Tired of tracing

Ok I have 2 dresses, 2 jackets and 1 shirt traced out and ready to cut, I was going to trace all my patterns first then cut then on to fabrics.... well I 'm tired of tracing ... so I'm going to cut these patterns and make the clothes.  I get bored easily so maybe this way I wont get so bored with all the tracing and cutting.  Making swaps for 2 girls I have alot of tracing to do.

I GOT IT YAYYYYYYY

After searching for this pattern, I was finally able to find it.  It is being discontinued, so I am very happy to have been able to buy it.  The Farbenmix Feliz Pattern.  A very Twirly Dress.

Start Sewing

If I can manage to get off this comp maybe I can start sewing.  Its so hard because I keep finding all these things to make. Like this pettiskirt

Its made by Martha, yes the one you are thinking of.  I figure I could make a few of these for less then what they sell them for in boutiques.  But of course I gotta get of the comp.LOL

Here are some patterns that I bought

you can see some examples of this dress here.

I also bought
examples here
One of the ones above will be either Miss A's birthday dress or Easter dress.  The other pattern will be from Ottobre either

or
Opinions are very much welcomed.  What do you think?

farbenmix feliz

I like this dress.  I really want to get the pattern. Miss A loves twirly dresses and this dress is twirly.

Revised SWAPS

I redid both of my  daughters swaps.  They now include spring and summer.  I am using some of my stash fabric and I got to buy some.  ( I think I am becoming a fabric junky,  while at IKEA all I was thinking was that I could buy their bed sheets(they have cool designs) to use as fabric for clothes.)  I need Fabrics Anonymous. LOL  Well here are my new SWAPS

Here is miss A's Spring/Summer SWAP.

Heres is miss J's Spring/Summer Swap.

Here are some of the fabrics I will be using.

These are all from Chez Ami
There are more but I will just take a picture of them.  I already have some patterns traced out.  Not sure if I should trace out all the patterns then cut them out then on to the fabrics or make each dress on by one.  Anyway I hope to post something up soon.

S.W.A.P

Here is my SWAP (Sewing with a plan) for miss A.  All the patterns are from my Ottobre magazines.  It for the summer, I'm staring now in hopes of finishing before the summer.  I also plan on making a swap for miss J, I'll post that one once I'm done all my planning.  This will also be a summer swap.  I'm thinking that if I finish before the summer maybe I can make some more clothes or get a head head start on fall and winter.  I think these seasons need more clothing.  Especially  the holidays, also I really don't want to get stuck trying to rush everything......  so hopefully this will give me a heads up.

Babushka Pinafore dress

I made this dress for miss A using cord fabric, its from my Ottobre mag 1/2009.  Its a size 92 cm.  This dress was pretty easy to sew(meaning no head breaking on my part as to how to put it together).  I already have a size 80cm cut out for miss J(I just need to sew it up).... Yes I am one of those people who like to have their kids match in clothing even though they are not twins.
This is a close-up of the fabric.
Its a black background with
flowers and leaves all over.
Very pretty

       Here's the dress in a size 92cm.

Flan

So today (2/08) is my brothers B'Day and he wanted me to make him 2 flans.  Flan is an egg custard.  I LOVE FLAN.  So I made him his flan, and made 1 for me also :p   You can get the recipe here, as well as other types of Spanish foods.  I LOVE SPANISH FOOD.  Of course it helps that I am Spanish :)

Your ingredients: 5 eggs, 1 can each of evaporated milk and condensed milk, 1 tblsp vanilla, 1 1/2 cups sugar.

Take the eggs, both cans of milk, the vanilla and 1/2 cup of sugar and mix it all up.

Take the rest of the sugar (1cup) and caramelize it.  Cook it slowly on the stove because you do not want it to burn.

Once melted quickly pour it into your container and cover the bottom of your container.

Strain your mixture into the container.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about an hour.  After 1/2 hour has passed check to see if it is done, by inserting a knife into the middle.  If the knife comes out clean its done, if not put it back in and wait a little longer.  If it starts to darken cover with aluminum foil.  Once done let it chill in the refrigerator till cold.  After that all you have to do is ENJOY your flan.  If you make it please let me know how it comes out.

YUMMMMMY Granola

Today is Sunday but seeing that our car broke down we were not able to go to church.  So I decided to try a recipe I had found online.  Crock-pot Granola.  I didn't add everything that was in the recipe,  I basically put in 4 cups of oats, about 3/4 cup of honey (I added all the honey I had left) 1 table spoon of vanilla and cinnamon,  5 pats of nutmeg, whatever brown sugar I had left, 2 spoons of peanut butter, 1 stick of butter and a little bit of oil.  It came out delicious, much better then the store bought kind and much healthier.  I'm gonna try it with some warm milk. Yum.

Homemade pizza

Miss B just made everyone here some pizza.  She used the bread recipe from one of my previous links.

Here she is rolling out the dough.

Then she has to poke holes in the dough.  I'm not sure why but an older pizza recipe I had said to do this

Then she added the sauce

Finally the cheese

Then bake in a really hot Oven..  We put our oven to the hottest settings.
YUMMY

too cooool

I came upon this shirt.  I wold love to make miss N one of these.  She thought it Awesome!!!

Dress for N

I made this dress for N since she needed an outfit to attend our churches volunteer banquet.  She sings in the youth choir there

J's 1st Birtday dress

Here is J in her 1st birthday dress.
It was pretty easy to make, after I did a test trial.  Whats funny is that while I was making the test trial, I went to bed trying to figure out how I was supposed to attach the collar.  I'm no expert but I got it and the second time around It was easy.  So now I can make a bunch of these in nice warm fabrics.  These are great winter dresses.
